kAyLoR Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hello, When I graduated HS I had two options in mind; 1 - Get my BSBA in Management Information Systems or 2 - FLY for a living. I went with choice 1. I am currently an analyst for a well known IT Consulting firm in St. Louis. It's a great job if you like office politics and being stuck behind a desk. It was okay at first, but now I want out. Becoming a helicopter pilot has always been a dream for me and I do have the passion for it. Anybody have any recommendations for a helicopter flight school in St. Louis? So far my options seem limited to Silver State Helicopter and Midwest Helicopter, both located at the Spirit of St Louis airport. If there are other options for St. Louis, let me know. I have no experience adn would be going from nothing to a commercial pilot hopefully with instrament ratings. Please advise. Quote
Gerhardt Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) Jim Brooks does some training over at the downtown airport. Funny that it seems like 90% of students enrolled in helicopter flight training are former IT people. Edited August 27, 2007 by Gerhardt Quote

Ok since I used to work for Midwest Helicopters for a year as a CFI/II I'd say........... It's a good flight school your choice of S300 R22 and R44. It's been in the greater St. Louis area for a long time. Call Tom up and he'll hook you up with an intro flight but you'll have to pay. The maintenance is good, I've never had any major problems with the ships their all in good shape. Don't call expecting to talk to Charile Tom can give you all the info you need, he's been their doing the samething for awhile, and he's a really good guy. Oh yeah Midwest also knows the place better then SSH I'm from Hawaii and didn't know jack about St. Louis and I met alot of good people while their. If you get some promised to you just remember what the king "Elvis" said "The only things in life promised is fast cars and fast women" let me know if you have any more questions. Quote
