ERAU Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Hello everyone my name is Kris and I have been attending ERAU for 5 years now and I am in a brand new FMS class for helicopters. Our task for the semester is two create a book specific for helicopters . We have the cheleton software and manual and we are looking for for FMS systems that are used in helicopters . I am having troouble finding any of them. So if some one could lead me in the right direction that would be great. TAHNKS ALOT Quote
vertrefadmin Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I believe Max over at Hillsboro Helicopters is familiar with the Chelton type. The FAA Capstone Program in Alaska ended up going with the Garmin 480 and the MX20 as the FMS System for all helicopters. I've only seen it in the Astars though. They were testing the Chelton System in Juneau before the Garmin decision was made. The hover vector was kind of silly though. It was suppose to tell you if you were drifting in a hover but it had a few seconds delay which could possibly be unsafe so some of the operators testing them asked to have them removed. Quote
