captkirkyota
What does it mean when a job add says must have or be card-able?
Gomer Pylot
Cardable means you must be able to pass an OAS checkride. The Office of Aircraft Services checks pilots for various government contracts. It's mostly a paperwork drill. I took an OAS checkride in an AS350 once, and the check pilot, who came down to the Gulf coast from Boise, ID, had never been in an AS350. He flew along in the left seat with a couple of us, and just wanted to see slope landings, even though there are very few offshore platforms with sloped heliports. The company asked him to do a couple more checkrides, and he said no, he came down to to two checkrides, and that was all he was going to do. In short, another worthless bureaucrat.
