clay Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 FIRST off, if this is to much of "cheating" for me on my CFI, feel free to let me know. I'm working on lesson plans for my CFI, and I am compiling a list of topics that i should have lesson plans on.. curious to what all you guys have put as titles, how many total lesson plans your workin with, etc. etc. . Flip Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Go through the PTS and create lesson plans on every task (the ground sections anyway). You can even create an outline for each lesson plan using the PTS requirements it lists for each task. Read which ones you are for sure going to be tested on (such as "critique and evaluation" in the FOI's) and make sure you get those down pat. Practice practice practice. Practice teaching inanimate objects. They're great listeners. Flip Quote
FauxZ Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 As flip said, go through the PTS and it will give you most of the topics you have to have a plan for. However, it's not the only ones you can best tested on, depending on who is your examiner. Their job is to determine that you could teach a student, part 61, right after your check ride. With this in mind, I found myself lacking in the following for my checkride. Weather theory (PTS only asks about reports)ADMSFAR lesson plan (if you teach in the R22/44) That's really all I can think of at the moment, there were sections in the PTS lessons I had to re-write after I started to be a little more comprehensive. You're welcome to a copy of my Syllabus summary which lists the titles of each lesson as well as the related study material (with regards to the Jeppsen Private pilot book and the RFH). Granted it's built for a 141 syllabus, but it might give you a good starting point. I'd attach it to the thread if I could. PM me your email addy if you'd like a copy. Quote
