beckwith Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 As a person who is in the "Considering" stage it can be awfully hard to understand what all of you are talking about. I think it would help me feel like less of an ass if people would post common acronyms, abbreviations, and slang accompanied by a short discription. thanks in advance. Quote
Sparker Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 (edited) I totally know what you mean. I was lost when I started visiting this site about a year ago. I was just too embarrassed to ask. My eyes still glaze over when I open that book...... It is like it releases some kind of sleeping gas.... Quote
helonorth Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Yeah, I agree the FAR/ AIM ( Federal Aviation Regulations/ Airmans Information Manual; see whywe have to shorten things up? ) won't help much. You won't find much help there. I guess since thisis the flight training forum... just ask. Or Personal Message someone if you feel like it's a dumb question and don't want to be embarrassed. Somebody told me once the only stupid question is the one unasked. Quote
apiaguy Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 go to a bookstore and pick up a copy of The Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms" or similar. Or just spend a few years hanging around the airport and these message boards.. Quote

I know from my own experience as a ski instructor and in outdoor ed that even good questions get old after about the fourth time you answer them, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a place for all those good questions. I actualy love acronyms and abbreviations and jargon I just havn't learned this set yet. Quote
