Curious if anyone knows of some r22 flight schools in Austin, TX.

 

Bonus points if they have a simulator and/or an r44.

There isn't one, last I checked... San Antonio used to have one, and then there is Brazos... A few down in Houston, then there is Sky and Summit Helicopters in Dallas.

Just SSH in New Braunfels and Helicopter Experts in Bulverde, just north of San Antonio that I'm aware of.

There used to be a school called CFC in Georgetown, not sure if they are still in operation.

They were bought out by Austin Helijet. They repainted the R22 and 44. They also are both forsale. Last I looked at their site, they did not list training.

No "schools" in Austin. There is a guy that trains in his 22 N.E. of Austin. A 44 is also available there. Helicopter Experts in Bulverde (an hour and 15 min. south of Austin), has a good set up with 22's, a 44, and a simulator. Brazos up North. cfc doesn't do training anymore. I was impressed with Helicopter Experts. Just my opinion.

thanks for all the replies that's plenty of info. it suprises me that there's no flight schools in austin.. id figure you could make a killing there with all of the UT dropouts. i've lived in San Antonio and..... no thanks. thanks to yall though
