Yeah, it USED to be the "black helicopters". The conspiracy theorists also talk about the UN taking over the USA in the whole "new world order" conspriacy. He probably thinks it's a white UN helicopter.

 

There are a couple of web sites (don't remember the links) that show vast "fleets" of white vehicles in the southwest U.S. waiting to be used by the UN when they take over. It looked more like GSA fleet lot to me.

 

I have been wanting to paint my truck white and put a big black "UN" on both sides for years, just to get a rise out of these kooks.

 

We get citizens calling in all the time claiming we are "following" them with the helicopter. I often want to tell them "We are, and I can't belive you would go out in public wearing that".

Are you talking about the videos where she super zooms on the helicopter and it does look like it's close...until she zooms out and you can barely make out that it's actually a helicopter? Just another kook.

 

We have a guy who "stalks" us, because he thinks we are following him all the time. He parks on the public street near our pad and watches as we re-fuel. When we take off, he drives away. We were never sure where he lived, until we were working a call one night and he hit us with a bazillion candlepower handheld spotlight. When we flew to the source of the light, to play the "who has a bigger light" game, I recognized his truck in the driveway.

 

It takes all kinds I guess.

We wear goggles, and they can experience a "bloom" or get gained out with a bright light, but it really is quite managable. Even with the amount of cultural lighting we have in the urban area, it is not too problematic. If worse comes to worse, look below the goggles and fly your instruments until you can flip the goggles up or the bloom is gone.
