FlyNHighNFast
Ok, I'll be the first to admit. I check the FAA's Airmen Certification site on a daily basis, to see when my "real certificate," may show up in the mail. For all of you newly minted pilots and veterans out there. How often do/did you check on yours?
southernweyr
I never check and I have recieved over 4 without problems. Where excactly do you go to check? I looked around, logged in and I didn't see where you could check the status.
Witch
Funny thing here. I went and looked at the registry one night, and the certificate was in the mailbox the next day. Odd I thought. Coincidence? I think not! Later

How often do/did you check on yours?I had to call the FAA with an IACRA question about 2 weeks ago, and they said that airmen certifications were still being processed from the mid november tests. It may be a little while longer if you are waiting on a permeant cert.
heligirl03
Didn't know you could check online. If they say up to 120 days, expect it on day 120. My PPL took about 2.5mo I think? Dunno, can't remember. But you've got the paper...yay!! Congrats!
FlyNHighNFast
But you've got the paper...yay!! Congrats! Thanks Heligirl. I've had it since 12/20/07. They are up to 12/5/07 as of today. I've waited a long time for this, so the excitement of getting the first certificate has not worn off yet. DanceswithCyclic
I received both Private and Comm certificates 8 weeks to the day of the practical. Currently waiting on CFI. You can check at http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/, then click Airmen Certificates. Will reload with the current processing date. Firepilot
I also didn't know that you could check online. The last few times I've renewed my CFI, I've called a number (found on the FAA site) and an automated voice will tell you what month's certificates are being processed. C.R.O.
Thanks Heligirl. I've had it since 12/20/07. They are up to 12/5/07 as of today. I've waited a long time for this, so the excitement of getting the first certificate has not worn off yet. That's interesting to hear. I passed my check ride on 12/9/07, and card came to the school on Wed. It's in my wallet as we speak. Do that have a specific order of what they process first? Edited February 2, 2008 by C.R.O. Cruzin Chris
GOT MINE TODAY! I took the check on 1 Dec 07. I'm prior military so the road has been very strange - as the FAA just doesn't understand someone who didn't take the test while on active duty and is now willing to submit to the carnege of Part 61 to get THE ticket. FlyNHighNFast
Nice pic Chris. Mine will probably be here waiting for me when I get back from my next business trip.
BOATFIXERGUY
I didn't know you could check online either. Dating myself, but my PPL was before Al Gore invented the internet, and the internet was still a toy when I got my commercial. Nice to see how the internet has changed our daily lives. Matter of fact, when my internet is down, it seems like the world stops!
