me shakes fist
I passed my private pilot checkride this afternoon!! I did very well on the oral but I was not happy with my flying. I did everything to private standards (obviously since I passed) but not as well as I have been - especially the autos. Oh well, it was a learning experience and in the end I passed. Looking on the plus side of what happened, it's good to know that me having a bad day of flying is still within the standards for a private pilot. :D
PA Pilot
Congrats! As to how well you flew, most folks don't fly as well as they are capabl;e of doing a checkride, and the DE's know that. Nothing to be ashamed of.

ADRidge
Living the dream, man. Congratulations on being a PILOT now. Can you give any details on the oral? Any oddball questions you didn't anticipate, etc?
lwalling
Congratulations. Sounds like you felt like me after your checkride. I felt let down, and depressed! I passed to, but it was the end of the training (that I was enjoying) and I felt I didn't work very much for the license on that last leg of the journey. My flying sucked! And I hate it when I feel like I didn't do a good job, or maybe didn't put in 100%. I am happy now, only because I can continue the journey into Commercial and IFR training in my own ship, and travel at will in that same ship. Flying a helicopter is like nothing else -
me shakes fist
Living the dream, man. Congratulations on being a PILOT now. Can you give any details on the oral? Any oddball questions you didn't anticipate, etc? There was nothing really unexpected about the oral part. My examiner focused mainly on airspace and aerodynamics/emergencies on top of going over the cross country. I feel like there are a lot of things I don't know, yet I did very well on the oral and was able to answer most of his questions.

In driving helicopters, you never know everything. Everyday you'll learn something new. Well done again.
