Checkride tomorrow, 10AM...

Ahhhh, the clam before the storm....... except I don't remember being to calm!! Good luck, I'm sure you'll do well.

Good Luck! Remember, you've already passed it. Your CFI and school wouldn't sign you off unless you are ready! Now go show the FAA so you can get your ticket!

Good luck, you'll do great. Just do it one step at a time and if you make a mistake take a deep breath and do it again. Let us know how it goes!

(I don't know what checkride you're doing but if it's private or commercial...) Oh and remember if it doesn't look good, don't hesitate to go around! :)

Good luck!! As someone else posted, your CFI wouldn't have given the go ahead if you weren't ready. Just go do it!

It's for my private. I'm getting an add-on, so I've been through it once before... but that was almost 10 years ago! I'm going out right now to get one more flight in, just to be sure ;-)

If you're doing your checkride with Missy, she can be very intimidating, but remember, she is there to give you your ticket. She won't hand it to you, but as said before, your instructor wouldn't have signed you off if you weren't ready. You won't need it, but good luck. :D

I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm with everyone else. Your CFI wouldn't have put you up if they didn't think you were ready. Go kick some DPE butt.

????? must still be celebrating.

Still???

I know I was so keyed up after passing my Stage 3 (pt141) oral/ride, I was so excited I didn't sleep for about 48 hours.

ummm Squirrel? Maybe you should take another deep breath and start writing ?

Or maybe you shouldn't have held it that long... ;) .

Sorry guys,

I over-flared my 180, although it was one of my best glides and approaches; and out of nerves, I bumped the collective up on my way to lowering it on my low RPM recovery (hand on collective, tensed up shoulders, collective comes up).

Retest is tomorrow.

Went out with my instructor Saturday and did 10 low rotor RPM recoveries in a row - all were fine. Then we came back and did 8 or 9 180 autos. The first one was a repeat of my checkride, but I think we managed to correct my over-flare tendency. I have a flight with my instructor today after work, just to make sure it stuck.

Man I still hate 180s in the pattern. There's a lot of stuff in that checkride, a lot of stuff that you did right, and now on the retest you can just hop out do your low RPMs and 180 and be done. One more deep breath, you know how to do this, just try and have fun with it. ;)

Good Luck! (and let us know how it goes)

Sorry guys,

I over-flared my 180,

We are all nervous as heck on checkrides, and usually fly our worst, not our best. (I did !) I have a few real life experiences in a helicopter that go way past the word "emergencies"...if you train well you will react well during the real thing.

Good luck on the next ride.
