CNN reporting an EMS ship went down with no survivors outside Madison. One report suspects CFIT in IMC conditions...

From first reports, it looks like another case of CFIT. The EC135 is a very capable IFR machine, and my personal preference when I'm in an IFR capable machine is to file and fly IFR if the weather is even a little iffy, often even if it isn't, just for practice. I wasn't there, though, so I won't comment further.

It is a very sad situation and I feel for the families and friends. We will have to wait to hear the final result of the accident. Although I am sure weather played a big role.
