nocarsgo Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 (edited) Instructor Christian Boatsman is making an end of the year video for Precision Aviation and for fun he made a preview to show what he's been working on so far. He's good, it looks like it'll be awesome. Just thought I'd let you guys enjoy it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_qqlirBWwA. Edited June 12, 2008 by nocarsgo Quote
TomPPL Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 FANTASTIC....! Truly one of the best heli vids out there. My only criticism..? It was TOO SHORT - another twenty minutes would have been great - keep up the good work. Quote
slick1537 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 That does look pretty cool. Will the end of year video be presented as a documentary? Quote
Wannabe1 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Okay, that was pretty darn good! Give Christian an ATTABOY and a hearty handshake. Quote
Autorotator Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Guess this explains why the video was so good. "Christian has a Masters degree in Film Production, and was a film/TV sound editor and computer systems administrator before switching to the aviation industry." Quote
gft Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 WOW!I'm looking forward to the full length feature. Quote
OregonFlyBoy Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 WOW!I'm looking forward to the full length feature. So am I.... Hmmm, I had better get started on it soon. Christian B. Quote

Funny you should say that - the final version will be about 20 minutes long, but I'll post it on YouTube in bite-size pieces. Thanks for watching, Christian B. Quote
OregonFlyBoy Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 That does look pretty cool. Will the end of year video be presented as a documentary? Included in the 20 minute final version will be a 4 minute piece on an aerial game survey (elk, deer, sheep) that has a documentary feel to it. There's also a rewrite of a Nickelback song (Hey Hey I Wanna Fly a Choppa), a short instructional on how to fly a Bambi bucket, some fixed-wing instructional flights shot from the back seat, etc., etc. Lots of material, no time to edit. BTW Autorotator: the "Dogwalkers of the Filthy Rich" picture is one of my favorites. Christian B. Quote

OregonFlyBoy Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Fantastic Job !! What software are you using for the editing if you don't mind me asking..? MediaStudioPro by Ulead. Complex, yet inexpensive suite of programs. It's a cheap knock-off of Adobe Premiere, which is a cheap knock-off of FinalCut. Yes, I admit it: I'm cheap; but I'm not easy! c. Quote
