joshroyse.com Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I am submitting an application for replacement of a knowledge test. Does anyone know how long the FAA takes to process and mail the exam back? OR, does anyone know a faster way than snail mail? Thanks! JR Quote

JR Hi, The FAA will take it via Fax but they will still mail a replacement back to you snail mail, you might be able to call them and find out if they can fax you a copy until the original arrives but not sure. Usually when we do it, we tell people that it will take about 2 weeks. It's usually more like about a week to week and a half. Unfortunently there is really not too many ways around this, short of re-taking the exam to get new results right away. If your doing IACRA and have the exam ID handy, (like if you have a non-offical copy) you can pull it up in there and maybe still be able to take your ride while waiting for the original, but that's up to your examiner. Sorry, hope that helps. Quote
joshroyse.com Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Thanks! I really appreciate it. The fax idea helps with time. I do have a copy of the written exam at my flight school...unfortunately my original is in Oklahoma at my parents house....somewhere lol. I probably should just re-take it since I did absolutely horrible on all the VORTAC stuff since my instructor told me all of that was out-dated and unnecessary to learn... BUT I am short on cash. Flight school is too expensive lol. I'll try and find that fax number and fax the request right over I'm really nervous about this checkride coming up! I went on tour in Europe for half a year and then came back to flight school and had to completely refresh on ground school...wish me luck guys. Quote
