West Coaster Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Not sure if this was posted here already. Anyways a media team sets up shop in a staging area for the nightly news on the status of a massive local fire. Almost choked on my dinner when I first saw this.... priceless! Quote
AngelFire_91 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Ah hahaha. That was great!! They keep saying, "Not sure what the pilot was doing..." Well, I'm pretty sure he was setting the bucket down and laying the line out in front of him while landing. I'd probably do the same thing though, "Oh look, a reporter, this is gonna be goooood!!!" haha. Quote
glennahall Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 ***WARNING******WAR STORY INBOUND******WARNING*** I remember doing a static display in a big store parking lot once. We told the folks there that they needed to move some vehicles that parked after we landed and were far too close but they didn't think there would be any problem. They agreed to take full responsibility if anything happened so we left. Our CH-47D's hurricane force winds were, indeed, more than some of the vehicles were up for. Damage ensued. Geniuses. (Glad I wasn't PIC, though. I'd have made people mad by insisting they move things. Probably would have gotten in trouble for being a jerk.) Quote
