ScottL Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 http://vtolblog.com/?p=4013 Thankfully everyone's ok it sounds like, and it is one of Mountain One's helicopters, based out of Erie. Quote
280fxColorado Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Our Schweizer 300c, N299RJ, made a forced landing near Legacy High School in Broomfield today, Sunday November 14th. The private pilot who was renting the helicopter and his passenger are both fine, with no injuries. This of course is the most important fact. In addition, there was no damage to persons or property on the ground. The pilot reported a sudden loss of power and made a 180 degree autorotation to the field, the only open space in a congested residential area. The helicopter impacted hard but remained upright. The cause of the power loss is under investigation by the NTSB, FAA, and internally. We are extremely thankful everyone is fine. Thank you to everyone who has contacted us to express concern.
