mcguirky Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Hello,I am looking into certifying an LED PAR 36 replacement for certain landing/taxi lights on rotorcraft. To address CFR 27.1383((3) showing the pilot is not adversely affected by halation, is flight test an absolute requirement? What are the main variables that affect halation? Light output? Light position? Light spread? I.e. If an LED replacement is the same form, fit, function with better light output, can compliance be shown by similarity to ((3)? Or is it always going to be an subjective analysis by the pilot? Quote
