karthikaqpt Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Kalashnikov Concern is a Russian Defense Company, named after AK-47 designer Kalashnikov. It has showed a demo of its one-person flying car. The so-called flying car has eights pairs of rotors that provide lift. The vehicle has a skeletal metal frame and is controlled by a pair of joysticks. There is no gasoline or diesel engine. Two banks of batteries are located under the rider and likely provide electricity to the eight pairs of rotors. The use of electricity saves weight over the use of a petroleum-powered engine and gas tanks, but like quadcopter drones the vehicle can probably only fly a half hour or less before exhausting its batteries. The flying car could have military applications down the road including scouting, communications, and other tasks. 1 Quote
