blave Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Yesterday I spent an all-too-short hour sticking a brand new Raven II from the Kona airport to the Kohala coast part of the Big Island. My good friend/fellow guitar player BenM took some 200 photos of the flight - I have posted 40 of them here: http://blave.smugmug.com/gallery/1204177 I was already expecting a great flight but thanks to the guidance of Mauna Loa Helicopters' chief pilot - who was a Required Pax due to insurance requirements - we were made aware of at least one unusual landmark that we overflew. See if you can spot it . This ship sports a full IFR panel for training. Interestingly, this ship doesn't have floats - apparently RHC refused to put 'em on in addition to the panel, saying that the ship would be too heavy. That seems a bit strange to me, but perhaps there are C of G issues with the combination of IFR panel and floats? aloha, Dave Blevins Quote
