toliver Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I'm thinking about laying down some cash for the CFI helicopter add-on at Allied Helicopter in Tulsa, OK. Has anybody ever studied there? How's the maintenance? Any scheduling conflicts? Who was your examiner? Got any gouge? Any other information about this school is appreciated. Quote

I am from Tulsa and I called them yesterday, they only teach in Bell 47's plus the lady I talked to said they are getting ready to shut down the business. The instructor they are using right now is from Arkansas, so he has like a two hour drive to get there before he does any instruction. There is a guy at Riverside who has I think an R22 or a 44 who also instructs, I'd check him out. Good luck. Quote

futurepilot Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I called Allied last wedensday and as posted earlier they are going out of business in a few months. I did speak with their instructor who is from Arkansas and plan to meet with him this saturday for more information. He did give me the name and number of an instructor at Jones Riverside who has a R22 who also instructs havent talked personaly to him but plan to in the next few days. I took it they might be joining efforts and doing more training in the area if the workload is sufficient, dont know for sure that just how i took it. Here are the instructors and where they are located......Mat Natholmes 1-479-531-3980 Allied Helicopters.....Patrick Hynes 1-918-852-3158 Jones Riverside w/R22 Quote

Anybody looking for training in the Tulsa area should consider Patrick Hynes. His number is:918-852-3158. R22 or R44 plus maintenance. Quote
J Breese Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I flew at Allied in one of their 47s. I had been flying in SoCal in R22s so it was a big change. The helicopter and instruction were both very good. It was nice to fly something different. I flew with Nat Holmes. I thought it was Matt, but its Nat. I also met Patrick who flys the R22 out at Riverside. I liked the fact that Allied was so close but given the fact that they are closing up I think I need to move on. I looked into Silver State like all the rest of you above and was not pleased. For one, I dont want to spend 60 thousand and get all my ratings, all I want to do is finish my private pilot. Silver State doesnt allow that, which I think is stupid. I think Patrick might be getting a lot of calls from people unhappy with the SSH program. Quote
Goldy Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I flew at Allied in one of their 47s. J- Let me know if you hear anything about the school selling off their Bell 47's...I'm always snooping for a deal on one. Thanks, Goldy Quote
