zcat Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Hi everyone. I'm curious about how much downtime/free time/thumb twiddling there is with the various types of jobs out there. And what do y'all do with non-flight time? Are you generally required to find busy work? I'm currently a software developer preparing to transition to flying helicopters, and am thinking I could probably use some non-flight time to do some consulting work. I mean, if it's between playing the 13th game of chess on a shift vs. slinging some code on a laptop, I'll go for the latter. Maybe there's not that much sit-around-and-wait time. Any light you guys could shed would be appreciated. It would be great if people from EMS, ENG, law enforcement, etc., would post an average "day in the life of my job". Thanks in advance for any input. zcat Quote
