So i'm sitting here at like 4am watching the behind the scenes dvd's for Lord of the Rings The Two Towers and they did a bit on the location where they filmed the Edoras scenes. So i got on the net and found some shots of the Mt. and surrounding mountains. It took damn near two hours just to find the damn Hill in Google earth which sadly wasn't in a High res section. Then i started up Flight Sim X and just by dead reaconing I found this little hill in the middle of a HUGE i mean HUGE river valley about 50 miles away from Ashburton!! I'm happy now i can go to sleep. I'll see if i can figure out how to take screen shots and go back if you guys are interested.

So no one else like to go find real places in FSX??

Ok, Ok, I'll admit it... yes I've done lots of virtual flights to places I've been and places I would like to go to. I've been a member of flightsim.com for as long as I can remember, I wish more FSX specific add on aircraft were available, so I don't have to keep FS 2004 installed, just to fly them.

ya I can't believe they only give you two Heli's in the program!! I have found a Bell 412 for FSX at Hovercontrol.com but Its seems i suck as a pilot right now b/c i can't seem to keep it in the air for more than like 5 mins before the number 1 engine takes a dump on me. First time i flew it was over the grand canyon. was kinda funny b/c i didn't hear any warning sirens about overheating or overspeeding or anything. It just went out and the stick and pedals jerk all over the place. Well that and the main rotor stalled and I dropped like a brick!
