Ok, a few of you have ask me about my job, what I do and so forth.

1) I work for KBR. Its a big company and many of the jobs (not all) just require a warm body. Some of the work is very easy to the point of boredom. Don't have high expectations or expect to be treated like an individual either. Just accept it and work towards your goal and in the end you will win.

2) I work in Qatar on an Airforce base and danger is pretty much non existant. I'm on the services contract which means that we work the services on base such as the library, fitness center, lodging and rec center. Very customer service oriented.

3) My "contract" is for a year but you can quit anytime. A woman just quit this morning in the office where I work. She was here about 3 months. A lot of people have quit.

4) I came here with a salary of $72,000 a year. 6 days a week, 12hr days. I've been putting in more hours than normal so I'll make around $80,000. If you apply for a position in Iraq you'll make more. 6 figures if you go there with a skill. I plan on leaving here and going to Iraq in May and then stay 6 more months then call it quits. I'll have what I need by then.

5) Don't be a lazy ass. While it easy work, show some initiative and don't have others finish what you started. You can get away with just being a warm body but your coworkers won't appreciate it. I suppose though this applies to all jobs.

6) Go to KBR.com and find the jobs posted there. It can take a while for them to contact you so don't give up if this looks like this is something you can/want to do.

7) You get 3 R&R's a year. Well, it seems like 2 actually because the 3rd one comes at the end of your year.

8) All your needs are covered. The only expenses you have are haircuts and personal hygene stuff. Unless of course your into on-line shopping. But pretty much everything is taking care of. Tax free, as I'm sure you all know.

9) I haven't yet tried to help anyone get hired so I honestly don't know what I can do as far as that goes but I WILL do what I can. In return though I want to make sure that whomever I may help has a good work ethic, can deal with the stress of being away and is serious about doing this. The question is how bad do you want to fly, how important is it to not take out a loan and Patience! In the end it will take me about 26 months. That included getting out of debt, saving the money for school and then saving a good chunk more so I'm not strapped for cash later. Your situation I'm sure will be different.

10) I hope that some of this helps. If I'm not able to help I hope this has given you a different avenue to go down and something to think about.
