sikorskypilot Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 So I have heard of sock line pulling, but i have never seen it done before. Are there any pics/vids of people doing sockline out there? Quote

Americium95 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 The crane is there to hold the sock line off the power line. If you look below the "V" of the cable you will see a power line running under the sock line. That is common practice for crossing roads, power lines, etc. There is a big pulley attached to the crane called a traveler. The pilot sets the sock line in the traveler as the wire is being pulled.
