plt4hire Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Has anything changed as of late for SIC positions as far as min hours and such go? If so, what are the requirements these days? I know hiring is slim to none right now anyway, but is there any chance there might be SIC positions anywhere in the GOM, or the world haha?! Quote
Eggbeater Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 If anything the minimums have increased. While it was possible for someone with 500 hours to get an SIC position in a Gulf S-76 a couple years ago, most companies there will not consider you for it now unless you've worked as a light ship pilot first. I have no idea what the logging and news SIC positions are requiring right now. Quote
West Coaster Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 In Canada there are a few companies that have been known to take low time co-pilots. Can try Helijet (S76/S61), London Air Services (A139), Ornge (S76/A139), and STARs (BK117/A139). But with the industry in the tank still you'll also be competing with high time 10,000 hour pilots who are willing to take a co-jo seat just to get back in the air. Quote
