NG-Tim Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I am currently a member of the Army National Guard and I am applying for Active Duty WOCS/ WOFT. Can anyone tell me if they know if all applicants compete with each other at the boards or do they seperate it active and civilian applicants? I've asked my recruiter this question and he told me he was not sure. He also told me that I will have to attend a local board before my packet is sent up higher. Quote

Its not "separate" but there are quotas for each individually. You will have to get scored at a Board interview and then your packet will travel and be reviewed by senior aviators and chosen by merit, character, etc... Quote
NG-Tim Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 Ok thank you. Is it better to get as many LOR's as possible or should I only stick with three? I also am trying to get ones that compliment my resume. How can I find a acive duty Warrant Officer (pilot) to ask some questions about the day to day life as a pilot in an active duty unit? My wife has questions about how often are deployments, possible duty stations, and family life. Quote
