flyboy2233 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 First I'll give you guys some background info. I am an instrument rated commercial pilot with 165.1 hrs TT, and 113.1 PIC, all in the R22. I got through the FOI portion of my CFI, but had to drop out because of money issues. Finally, after three years, I’m in a position where I can pursue my dream again. My plan is to hit the books hard, and write my lesson plans before I start, so I have all my ducks in a row by summer. My question is for people who had to take a hiatus like I did. How long did it take you to work the rust out? Also, the flight school I went to has gone through some major changes, and is not establishment it once was. So I am in the market for a new school. Has anybody had experience with Glacier Aviation in Olympia, WA? Quote
ADRidge Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I was out of aviation for almost a year, and my first flight back was like I was a PPL candidate all over again. Just remember to go VERY slowly, and relax as much as possible. The flying will come back in a week or less. The ground info, though.... that will take more time and effort. Remember, wiggling the sticks is the easy part. If that's all it took, everyone would be a pilot. Quote
