Quick intro, I'm a 300Hr PIC SEL / Inst. pilot, early 30's looking at a career change. I know there's a couple dozen post on career changes, so I'm good there. What I'd like to know is what the opportunities are for flying in foreign countries. My passion is really SAR work (mountain EMS kind of stuff), and haven't seen much in the way of postings for it stateside. Anyone know if there's anything going on elsewhere, or is this purely a military type operation in most countries? What things should I focus my training on if I decide to take the plunge and go for this? Somewhat related, is pilot pay usually better or worse outside the US?
