Sonic04GT
Well those figures are fairly motivating for an aspiring CFI such as myself haha
wombosi
I thought so too! Very encouraging.
terminal_velo
Neither encouraged nor discouraged. The median falls in the 70-80 range. Is that pay typical of someone with 25 years in the business, working 85 hours a week in the field, at a company with no benefits? Or is it typical of someone working 40 hours a week, their first year at the company, with a great benefits package, and getting to go home every night? Two entirely different stories. Wally
terminal_velo:My guess is that the typical working pilot is on an even split schedule of 12-14 hour workdays. Often it's 7 on, 7 off; or 14/14. I typically average 93 hours on a 7 day 12 hour schedule, for what it's worth.
Gomer Pylot
I'm in that range. I've been flying for >40 years, and I work 7/7, meaning I work about 85 hours/week, every other week, so I average about 42 hours/week, for the year. Starting pay is obviously less.
