BM1 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 So my current hoop to jump through is that ten years ago (2004) just prior to enlisting in the navy I had a couple moles removed solely for cosmetic reasons, but my recruiter wants documentation that they were benign and not a result of skin cancer. Fair enough. However being ten years from the time of the sugery, both my dermatologist and family physician have no records of it, and are unwilling to even right me a memo concerning that time period even saying that they never treated me for skin cancer. Hard to believe a 1 hour procedure is costing me so much time and effort 10 years later. Has anyone run into anything similar? Still searching out possible avenues of approach to this. Waiting to hear back on if a new exam by a dermatologist would suffice or not. For what its worth it's pretty obvious im not trying to cheat the system and get medical care....considering I'm in the reserves now and have tricare already, and have for the past 10 years without using it for any skin related issues, or any issues at all for that matter. skyreaper Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I had to submit surgery records from 2004 also. All my stuff was well documented, and I had no trouble getting a written statement from the Dr. fully releasing me from any conceived or inconceived complications... Lol. I'm pretty positive you can find a solution to this. Going to another Dr may help by way of figuring out what type of tests etc. that could be done to prove your health. Something like that may suffice. This seems like a pretty standard deal, so I think there should be options. 1 Quote
