Pilots & Managers: What are you worth?

I had a thought about pay in our industry. Low pay seems to be a "TRICKLE UP" effect. By that I mean, if a new CFI is willing to take an extremely low wage to fly their first job, then two years later the same pilot will be willing to take a lower than standard pay to fly a turbine (tours), two years later they are sick of tours and willing to take substandard pay to move on in another direction….

…and on and on the cycle goes.

My point for students is - Don't judge a flight school solely on how CHEAP they are. When you are an employee, are you going to be looking for the CHEAPEST operator then?

Food for thought.

Fly safe, everyone!

It's not generally the CFIs that are setting the price of training. Of course you should try to get the most for your money.
