Jorz Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Hi, Can anyone please tell me about the requirements for converting my NZ CPL (H) to an American CPL (H). I have just finished my licence in NZ with a total of 150hrs and about 50 of those hours are PIC.Ive heard about one rule of having 100hrs PIC for an American CPL (H).Is this correct and are there any other requirements? Thanks! Quote
Little Bird Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 You can get your FAA PPL based on your NZ CAA license, see http://www.aopa.org/Pilot-Resources/PIC-archive/Flight-Training-Ratings-and-Proficiency/Foreign-Pilot-CertificationFor your FAA CPL, see http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/retrieveECFR?gp&r=PART&n=14y2.0.1.1.2#sp14.2.61.f and in particular 61.121 onwards. Good luck! Quote
Astro Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Yes you'll need 100 hours PIC. On that second link just scroll down to 61.129c for flight experience requirements. Quote
Astro Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Can anyone explain to me why the 10 hours of required solo time for the CPL doesn't actually have to be flown "solo"? Quote
