zenmaster
I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to commute long distances (like from MT) while working in the GoM. I heard a rumor that a guy from my old flight school was commuting from WA. Any truth to this? Thanks. Zenmaster.
Highfinal
yes it is possible. Buy a plane ticket on your weeks off. Good luck with whatever you do
delorean
We used to have a pilot in our company that commuted from Cleveland to central MO and another from Vermont to central IL. Both bargained with the airlines and bought their tickets in large blocks. Since their schedule was set in stone, they got some good deals. Same goes for the rent-a-car. AND.....it was cheaper than flying their own airplanes. Edited December 12, 2005 by delorean
warpig
yes you can . a good friend of mine flys for phi and lives in vermont. as long as you get to work on time for your work schedule it doesnt confict. be prepared however to spend money re aranging flight plans as recently i heard they are mandating work overs due to lack of pilots. Gomer Pylot
In the GoM, no schedule is set in stone. Be prepared to have to buy new tickets. It's possible to commute long distances, but those who do it seldom last very long on the job.
