Guest rookie101
Why do I need a AS or BS degree in aviation to fly helicopters, I know employers want to see flight hours, but why a degree. Would a degree make me more employable or is something else? Fill me in.Thanks to all who post, rookie101

AdamSTL
If you were ever to transition to management of an aviation program; a degree would help land the position. Also, some of the more prestigious PIC positions might give the nod to someone who had a degree, all else being equal.
Unit74
Try and get hired on to an airline carrier w/o a degree........... I think it's about the perseption of "what" the employer thinks you know. Your "educated" and thus smarter and can be a better pilot. Although I know a well trained monkey can get a BS/BA on the internet these days, it doesn't mean squat in my book.
AndrewT
A you can never go wrong with an education, and B what if something we're to happen to you or the industry and you couldn't fly anymore? Lastly, what if you want to fly in the service? You need at least a BA in most cases.
