TOM2315 Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 An R-22 went down in Scottsdale Arizona yesterday killing the CFII and student who was on an intro flight. Was not one of the Major schools that fly 22s but rather a two ship operation called Allout Aerial based at KSDL. Too early to say what happened. From the pictures it looks like an auto gone bad but there were some powerlines in the area. Cabin was intact upright main rotor blades still on the ship no fire? Go to azcentral.com for more info. warpig Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 my condolensces to both familys. its never good to see a fellow pilot end up like that. i think seeing images like that are good. you can put it in the back of your mind for the next time you get a " is this really a good idea" voice in your mind. not implying the pilot did anything wrong, but seeing that will make you think twice and hopefully keep yourself or someone from the same tragedy. klas Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I was just reading about that co. in AZ just yesterday - new co. started by a young woman who was in another field then got her commerical license, bought her own helo, then started a succeful co. All their pilots had a lot of experience. That's unfortunate. http://www.alloutaerial.com/ Quote
