West Coaster Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I'm on a world-wide search for timed out Robbies going for cheap! Don't care where they are, so long as they ain't beaten up muster-machines from Oz or NZ.. and prefered if they don't have a history. Mostly on the hunt for 22s, but 44s are good too. Again, the emphasise is on timed out machines only. No wrecks or damaged goods. Oh yeah... not interested in alpha models thanks, just Beta or Beta II Any leads would be muchly appreaciated. Thanks gang... release the hounds!! Quote
mechanic Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I did know of a 02' BII w/ new -4's and 2100TT w/gps, heater, leather, dual tanks, artifical horizon, dual hobbs, hot mic, and flip type dual transciever for about $75k?? If you want, I can get the number for you, if he still has it? Oh, white base w/red or maroon stripe. Regards Quote
West Coaster Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 Sure mate, fire away. The machines aren't for me but a AME buddy looking for birds to overhaul and flip. Quote
tonymont Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 How much is your friend looking to pay? I'm curious as to what a timed-out R-22 is worth. Seems like a saw one advertised on an internet site several months ago that had about 250 hours remaining before time-out for around $75K, which is in-line with the what mechanic has mentioned (maybe he's thinking of the same one I saw?). mechanic Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 West Coaster, I have not reached the seller so I don't know if he still has it. 1-281-370-4354 ext 114 ask about tail 4GL. Tell him Brad referred you. Regards Quote
West Coaster Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Thanks mechanic, I'll pass the number to my buddy. As for what a timed out machine goes for... depends on that particular machine, it's history and where it's coming from. They can go as low as $35K up to around the level of the one you saw Tony. At that price though it must be damn near new as far as model-year goes... pretty steep for a bird that needs a 2200 hour overhaul soon. The lowest I've personally ever seen is an '84 Alpha asking $50K'ish needing a -4 blade install. Wouldn't be a terrible deal if people still actually bought R-22A's haha. Quote
mechanic Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 HaHa! A model. I knew of a 82' HP w/1100 hrs and low SN -2's, hasn't flown in 7 years I hear and the guy wants $55k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
West Coaster Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Good Lord! Just found two steals in Europe. One R22 Beta asking $31.5K and one R44 asking less than $50K. Both say they are timed out but I'm expecting to find some dents in em at those prices. If not... woohoo! Quote
