If you've bothered to watch the national news lately, you'd have seen that the rebels are attacking all of the western controlled oil fascilities. they are trying to drive them out and there are companies trying to find replacements for those who are leaving or dead.

stay away from that.

Its BS, the main helicopter company serving the oil fields there is CHC. And they don't do that sort of thing. You send a resume, they send you an application, provided you have enought twin helicopter time. Then you go for an interview in BC, then training then on to the job. This is a 409 Nigerian Scam. I would bet coin on that. As for the rebellion there, there aways one. Some group or another been attacking the Oil production since I been old enough to pay attention to the news. You only go to places like that for one reason and one reason only, if they pay more than anyone else for the work. There are plenty of places to go, Nigeria is a third world Sh*t hole always has been and always will be. The will never run off the oil companies, since they need them to get the oil out of the ground so they can in turn salt the money away in Swiss Banks and leave just ahead of the next bunch to do the same.

The view I got was that the Chinese would love to see the western oil companies run off so they could come pick up the pieces. There's a rumor that they are funding the rebels.

I agree with gmsemel, this is another one of those Nigerian scams-

They will probably ask for your banking info under the pretense of forwarding traveling expenses, etc.

Then clean out your account.

What helicopter pilot makes almost 20K a month?

Although this is a scam. I wouldn't be surprised at 20k/month salary for flying in a hostile (as in bullets and things going BOOM!) enviroment. I have heard of pilots earing over 100k flying in war zones.

That's not enought to get me there, even if it were a legitimate offer. There was a group kidnapped a week or so ago, off an offshore platform. The rebels/bandits/whateveryouwantocallthem arrived in boats, boarded the platform, and took the Europeans and Americans, and they haven't been seen since, that I've heard of. They likely will be ransomed eventually, as most have been so far, but it's getting stranger and stranger over there, and I ain't going, I don't care what they promise to pay.

Photoflyer,

Not to brag, but you can make over $100,000 and NOT fly in a war zone! I have been shot at numerous times though I must admit, but at least I do not have to live in a third world county.
