Whirlwind
I was on the fast track to get all of my ratings through CFII, but have recently slowed down the pace of training considerably after getting my private helicopter add-on.I have started wondering if new CFI's that have taken years to get to that point are viewed any differently than those that have plowed through the training in a year or so. It seems that all of the information and flying skills would be fresher in those who have learned it all in a shorter time rather than those that have dragged it out.Can anyone who has completed their training through at least CFI, and did it over 2 years or more while working another job, comment on how hard it was to get that first teaching job? southernweyr
It took me over 2 years to go from 0 to CFII and it was just as hard to get the job as otherwise. Nobody asked me how long it took me to get through training and nobody cares. All that matters is that you have a good attitude and know your stuff. slick1537
Or perhaps the opposite, maybe they think since you plowed through the information you didn't really dig in deep and completely understand everything.
