jmolleur Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I start training in a week! My dream is to fly offshore. Do any companies give flights to upcoming pilots to see if this is a career they want to pursue? Even if you have to pay? I would love to spend a whole day just observing a typical offshore day. Thanks!Josh Quote
Gomer Pylot Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Not AFAIK. There isn't often an empty seat. Most flights go filled to max gross weight, and still a little short on fuel. Quote
clay Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 do like i did, get a part time job at an offshore company, ask lots of questions, learn as much as possible, show that you are truely interested in the operation and a seat will come up sooner or later. Quote

Bayou06 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 (edited) Here's a couple of video experiences. Check out the "Offshore Flying Experience" (make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page). They are from the Local 107 Pilot's Union at Air Log. No Union promotion, just a slice of life flying in the GOM. http://www.local107.org/ Enjoy. Bayou06 Edited July 24, 2007 by Bayou06 Quote
