BJH Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Hello, I'm a newbie here so thanks in advance for being patient with questions that may have been asked before. I am about to begin my CFI training to become a professional/commercial pilot. I have had most of my questions answered by reading this great forum. However, I would like to know what a Class 1 and Class 2 Medical involve. What tests are done and how, and in what types of jobs would each type be needed? Thanks Quote
Dave3188 Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Quick google search brought up this website. http://www.casa.gov.au/avmed/medreq.htm Quote
BJH Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 Thanks for the reply. I was curious to find out what the tests consisted of. In other words, for the cardiovascular, do they stress test you on a tread mill? Quote
Sparker Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) http://www.casa.gov.au/avmed/medreq.htm Are you guys in Australia? Otherwise that page doesn't matter does it? Its doesn't appear to be as strict as the FAA requirements. An equally quick google search brought these up: http://www.leftseat.com/FAAforms.htm http://www.faa.gov/pilots/become/medical/ http://www.aviationwise.org/faamedical.html Edited September 7, 2007 by Sparker Quote
rick1128 Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Thanks for the reply. I was curious to find out what the tests consisted of. In other words, for the cardiovascular, do they stress test you on a tread mill? No they do not. Just a straight EKG. It is basically the same as a 3rd class medical except the standards are a little tighter and the first class requires an EKG after 35th birthday. Quote
