Prescriptions that disqualify your FAA exam

Recommended Posts

I just had back surgery and was prescribed painkillers. I'm about to begin flight training in New Jersey and will need to get an FAA exam. Does anyone know if this prescription will disqualify me? Is there a website that lists prohibited prescriptions? Are all prescriptions allowed?

If you are an AOPA member they have a website that you can look them all up. If it is a temporary thing it should not be a big deal. Obviously you can not fly while taking the pain medication.
