negative balance Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Blocking hours on ebay Vehicle Description What you are bidding on is the per hour cost of Hiller UH-12 Helicopter time. You can either choose 50 or 100 hour blocks. The location will be in Chattanooga TN, and it will take place asap! We will give you a Hiller UH-12 Initial School free with the acceptable 100 hour bid, and it will include training certificate. While acting as pilot in command you will receive dual instruction from an ATP/CFI/A&P. Not to mention you will have fun. Count on about 5 hours per day. For those that want it you will also get some time to learn a little maintenance from a A&P/IA. apiaguy Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I'd have to say they DO HAVE THIS ALL OVER!!!! This is actually not even as good as typical flight instruction. Notice how the reserve has not been met... and the buy it now price is pretty much what you can buy time building time for. $200/hr is no steal! A couple people already asked about doing their commercial or other training and he threw out that it is not training.... it is time building... so you get to go fly with the guy and his helicopter but you may or may not get to do what you want to do... Well, I'll offer my Hughes 300 at 200/hr. if you want to come see me and we'll go fly it. Then we get into the H-13 initial school.... oh boy.. what a load of crap. Yeah, if you want to call it that, OK... but it isn't like it sounds and neither is the "certificate". Quote

How do you know it's not a good deal? Maybe the reserve is much lower than $200 per hour. It might be a great deal for someone in say the Atlanta area - no airline ticket to buy. <<<"you may or may not get to do what you want to do..">>> As clearly stated the auction is for time building, not instruction. This isn't taking photos for BoatPix or pollinating rice. Anyone bidding gets to do exactly what they want to do - put hours in their logbook. I've flown with this guy and both he and the Hiller are first class. Seems to me a ground school on something you've never flown before is a great idea, not a "load of crap". Here's an idea - why don't you offer a comparable auction on Ebay? That would provide a good way to build time for pilots up in the Northwest. Maybe the idea would catch on and we'd have opportunities in all regions of the US. Not only could one build time, but perhaps also become familiar with another aircraft type. And it would keep costs down because airline tickets and rental cars might not be necessary.Seems like a win-win for all involved. Kevin Quote
apiaguy Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Point is the "marketing" phrases used in the ad can be misleading... as with most things on ebay...and as things go on ebay alot of times people will pay more than something is worth because they don't understand what they're getting. That's all I'm trying to say... buyer beware. Quote

That's all I'm trying to say... buyer beware. Very true, apiaguy! I noticed that with a few power tools. and yet people pay !I also watched a 9m Kiteboarding kite that sold from a Kiteboarding school over ebay that was made back in 2003 and had stated that the kite could be upgraded to use todays safety features, In truth this is BS. as you would have to do more than what the kites worth and in the end still wouldn't fly right. the kite went for over 600.00 <- thats insane.it was based on lies and the guy got busted for it. he is still trying to sale the damn thing on ebay and still lies about the safety features even though he knows damn well. So there is alot of truth in what you say, As I have seen it first hand !~Lana Quote
