muppetdog Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Has anyone flown EMS while they went back to college part time? I know there is a lot of down time in between flights and are not most EMS schedules 7/7? Just doing some brain storming MD Quote
Gomer Pylot Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I wouldn't say most, but some EMS jobs are 7/7. It's hard to work out a school schedule on 7/7, especially when the 7/7 rotates days and nights. I suppose it's possible, but it's not going to be easy. Quote

PhotoFlyer Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 What is the common EMS schedule? Just trying to get some intel MD I've heard 4/3, 5/2, and 7/7 thrown around, but I don't have any experience in EMS to confirm this. It will depend on the operator, and what their preference is. Quote
delorean Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 i think, although i'm not sure, delorean did some type of university while he was flying EMS. you might try pm'ing him about it. I was just finishing grad school school when I started flying EMS. Was working on my thesis every night after orientation class. But, it would have been much easier going through school with my current job because of all the free time. I work Fri, Sat, & Sun day shift, then nights Mon-Thurs. Get off on Friday morning, then I'm off until the following Friday. So I only work one week day every other week (which I could get someone to work for me if I needed to.) It would be easy to go to school during the day and have plenty of time for other things with my schedule. Except, if you had to fly an all nighter and needed to sleep. Quote
