Scandinavian Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Hi everyone, I`m new here at vertical reference. (from Norway btw) I was woundering if there is any Hillsboro Aviation people here, because I`m starting my helicopter training 3rd march this year.It would be much appreciated with some feedback about how thing`s going "over there". My stomach is like a big butterfly right now, I`m so excited to start my training at Hillsboro. As I said, some feedback, whatever it is would be much appreciated. Best regards-/Dag ChristerNorway Quote

C.R.O. Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 There are a few of us who are Hillsboro who are on here. Aaron as already mentioned is a CFI, and is a good guy to talk to. I am a student, and I know of 2-3 more who are on here as well, although I don't know all their handles on here. It's just a guess, but I am thinking you will hit here at a pretty good time. Weather seems to be improving lately, so hopefully it will keep doing that. See you around at the school. Conor Quote
lelebebbel Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 weather will improve significantly between march and april, and stay great all summer until about november. If you are done with the cross country flying for your commercial ticket by then, the wet weather in the winter won't even affect you much. Except for a few days when it's completely sogged in, it'll at least be good enough to do maneuver training around the airport.. i'm in hillsboro, and i got to fly a lot more in december and january than i would have expected. aclark79 Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Dag, shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the school. I can also put you in touch with a number of Norwegian students and instructors who can also let you know what to expect. -Aaron Quote
tattooed Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Yo! I'm with HAI as well. I'm a girl, so I'm easy to spot. PM me. I'd love to chat. (in fact, any HAI folks, feel free to PM me....happy to talk to anyone and meet fellow students....I'm rather social). I only have 26 hours, hopefully soloing soon. weather has been...uh....interesting. Seems to get worse during my block, then clear up for the next. I think I angered the weather Gods. Do you have an instructor yet? I'd recommend HIGHLY that you start reading and reading and getting prepared. I did. Made a HUGE difference. sandy Quote
