Hedge36 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I grew up in the shadow of ERA 212s in Nikiski. There are times I miss home, but looking at those photos I realize there are plenty of times I don't Quote
Americium95 Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 The facility is north of the Deadhorse airport looking south. The others were taken near Pt. Thompson on the coast heading west. Quote

Parafiddle Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 What type of special precautions, limitations are there when you are flying when it is so cold? I assume everything gets parked in a heated hangar. Do you have time limits on how long you can shut down outside when you stop, or do you keep the engine running all the time? What about icing? Any problems with metal fatigue due to the extreme cold? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Quote
