CFIAP5544
This will be written out in full for the example: __________________________________________________________________________________For Memory: CATEGORY for AIRCRAFT CERTIFICATION describes HOW the aircraft can be used. (category for AIRCRAFT also has MORE topics listed than for AIRMEN) Normal Restricted Utility LimitedAcrobatic Provisional Transport Experimental Acronym; PALE RUNT To remember AIRCRAFT category PICTURE A HUEY with the word RESTRICTED painted on the side.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Memory: CATEGORY for AIRMEN Certification has LESS Topics and describes the BROAD CATEGORY of your aircraft's physical characteristics. For memory: What is your favorite in order? 1.) Rotorcraft2.) Airplane3.) Glider4.) Lighter than Air To remember CATEGORY for airmen, imagine a jeapordy board with ROTORCRAFT, AIRPLANE, GLIDER & LIGHTER THAN AIR listed as the categories at the top.__________________________________________________________________________________ For Memory: CLASS for AIRCRAFT certification describes the BROAD characteristics of your aircraft. Rotorcraft Airplane GliderBalloonLandplaneSeaplaneAcronym used in a sentance - The aircraft CLASS GRABS L. (L= Lift)___________________________________________________________________________________ For memory: CLASS for AIRMEN describes what KIND of aircraft your flying; Helicopter or GyroplaneSingle-engine land or Multi-Engine landSingle Engine Sea or Multi-Engine Sea Memory Aid: In the AIRMEN CLASS you can fly a Heliopter, Gyroplane or Single and Multi-Engine land & Sea Planes. ________________________________________________________________________________ TYPE for both AIRCRAFT and AIRMEN describes a SPECIFIC MAKE & MODEL Hope this works for ya. lelebebbel
my stupid but effective memory aid: the word "category" has the most letters and therefore describes the biggest groups you can categorize aircraft in:rotorcraft, airplane, glider, LTA the word "class" is shorter at 5 letters, and describes the sub-categories:helicopter, single engine land..... the word "type" is the shortest with only 4 letters, and therefore describes the smallest groups: individual aircraft types:R22, C172....
