rodrop Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I am wondering if anyone knows how to acquire (or where) the database of the Q&A for the written tests? What I am looking for ...is ...just the database. I would like to make a program for itouch/iphone and have a way to study the Q&A...but all I need is the database/spreadsheet. I am thinking it has to be available somewhere (even for a cost) because so many companies offer the study programs. Anyone know anything that can help me? Quote
mjb86 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) I don't know if this is what you are looking for but all the questions should be available on the FAA website. Just go to their website and search for test question bank. Here is a link to one of the question banks I found. http://www.faa.gov/training_testing/testin...s/media/pvt.pdfI hope this helps. This question bank is for the private pilot knowledge test. Edited March 21, 2009 by mjb86 Quote
MN Heli Flyer Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Iphone already has an application with practice exams for airplane. It would be good to have a helicopter app as well. Good luck! Quote
DynamicallyUnstable Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Great idea man but I just checked the app store and they do have a helicopter app. Quote
rodrop Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Thanks for the replies. I have seen some apps out there that are similar. That is why I am wondering...how are they getting the database...must be getting it from somewhere, and consistently and in spreadsheet or database format so it can easily be implemented. I was/am hoping to do this and share for free..(everyone charges..geez ) I am kind of an open source freak..... Quote
goromadgo Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Don't know where they are getting the database for their programs. I used Heliprep personally. Not bad, but pretty barebones. I also used gFlashPro to make my own flashcards based on my school's sylabus, the Rotorcraft Flying Handbook, PHAK, etc. If you have that program for the iPhone/touch I can send those to you I'm pretty sure. They are mostly just for your PPL; though. Send me a PM if you are interested in those, no charge of course. That program is pretty cool because you can make all your own questions, use videos, sound files, pictures, etc and it runs off google docs. Quote
