swisster
Hi all,I am new here, so please pardon my questions. I live very close to the Bremerton Airport in the lovely Pacific Northwest, and Helicopters Northwest has a location there. I am toying with the idea of starting to take lessons there, because I am so close. However, I would like to know if any of you out there have any experience with any of the locations of Helicopters Northwest, or maybe even with the Bremerton Airport Location?I just want to know everything (the good and the bad) about your experience Helicopters Northwest. What do you know about other flight schools in the greater Seattle area, I know there is an outfit down in Oympia, as well as, in the Snohomish area? Thanks for your input. Peter Heligirl03 is an instructor at the Helicopters NW location at Boeing Field, so you might want to shoot her a PM. I live in Federal Way and have taken a few flights with Airwork LLC in Auburn - I'd be more than happy to get you into contact with my CFI for an intro flight - just shoot me a PM and I'll give you his number. You planning to make this a career, or PPL, or for fun (well, no matter which, it's all fun once ya get light on the skids)? - Lindsey

heloguy77
Yep, I'm here! Ask away I'm new to this as well. I'm also considering Helicopters Northwest, and I have a few questions for you. 1) What are the chances of being hired on as an instructor with them following training? I'm getting a little nervous about pursuing my dream to be a helicopter pilot after reading about the scarcity of aviation related jobs in today's economy. I don't mind being an instructor for however long it takes as long as I can be working in the industry and building hours, but if there is virtually no chance of a good student being hired I may have to rethink my career choice. 2) Do you recommend their in-house financing? Is it a good program, or is a career training loan with Sallie Mae a better way to go? I have not come across any other schools who offer the in-house financing. 3) What are your overall thoughts and/or comments for a thirty-three year old relocating from the East coast to the West coast, attending this school, and trying to break in to this type of career at this time? (I'm curious as to others opinion on this as well, not so much for advice on this particular school as much for advice on whether this is a smart thing to do in this economy with the aviation industry as it is right now.) I appreciate your comments and anyone else who cares to respond as well. Thanks!
