Converting ASVAB scores

Recommended Posts

I'm currently in the Marines and putting together a WO package for the ARMY. I have to convert my GT score from the Marines into the ARMY's GT score. How did you guys do this? I know on the website it says that you can email them and they will do it for you but i haven't recieved any word back yet. I also read that your CO has to submit a letter for it to be converted but i heard they have done away with that.

I orginally took my ASVAB back in 1994 when I joined the Navy. When I was putting my packet together in 2008 the recruiter looked up my scores in some system they have access (don't remember what it was called) to by SSN and they were converted. I didn't have to e-mail them to the Warrant recruiters or get a letter from my CO at the time.

Vulcan is the system you are thinking of. And the print out they do off of there has all the services on it. So there is no conversion.

Oh ok, i got ya.

There's another question I have. I know for active military they want at least 12 months left on your current contract. Now is this the time that you send in your package or the date that the board convenes? My EAS is Aug 29, 2011 and the due date for the July board is the middle of May. I honestly don't think i can get everything done before the middle of May so if i miss that board then i would have to wait till the Sept board which is less than 12 months before my EAS (unless they go by the date i submit my package).
