HeliUtah Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Looks like the Mountain Ridge Helicopters up in Logan lost a helicopter yesterday. Pilot and student walked away, so kudos to the pilot. Does anyone have any more details or knowledge of type of helicopter, or what the problem was? http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700030631/Pilots-walk-away-from-Utah-crash.html Quote
pendulosity Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 This article is from the local paper. It doesn't have much more information than the other article. They don't offer any indication of what caused the engine failure. http://news.hjnews.com/news/article_7da58414-5a40-11df-b0e9-001cc4c002e0.html Quote
UtahHeliPilot Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I don't think a cause has been released yet. Quote

Did that ever really happen? Quote
ercam1991 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 "They tried to restart it," he said. "It did not restart so they executed an auto rotation into this field."From the article....that's funny! Tried to restart, then executed an autorotation.....See, I knew you had more than a second to react. Quote
