Tenacious T
Can anyone recommend some good reference books for Part 133 ops/external load/rigging? Thanks
Whistlerpilot
Phil Croucher's excellent book The Helicopter Pilot's Handbook has a section on sling and long line work. http://www.electrocution.com/aviation/#HPH
FredR
The IHOG (Interagency Helicopter Operations Guide) has some good information external load operations (rigging loads, long line information, hooks, etc.) I think you can access a copy through the NIFC (National Interagency Fire Center) website. Try typing IHOG into Google, and select IHOG UFS. I saw quite a few different links there.
Whistlerpilot
Here is a link to the ecfr for part 133. http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&tpl=/ecfrbrowse/Title14/14cfr133_main_02.tpl I have a part 133 company ops manual but not in electronic form. PM me if you need more info. Eric
Tenacious T
I got the Croucher book, it's great! I found the IHOG easy enough but didn't get any hits on IHOG UFS for some reason. Thanks to all, I am now looking to create a rotorcraft load combination manual for the aircraft we want to use and am a little over my head at this point.
